Leicester & Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership (LLEP) - LLEP Business Gateway

The LLEP aims to make the area a destination of choice for business, working and living. It provides strategic leadership to deliver sustainable economic growth and has identified textile manufacturing as a key growth area.

LLEP Business Gateway provides a signposting service to different forms of business support that are available for those looking to start-up a business or for ambitious businesses looking for support to grow and expand.

This includes business support that is available from local and national partners across the manufacturing, design and retail sectors.

The UK Fashion & Textile Association

UKFT brings together designers, manufacturers, agents and retailers to promote their businesses and the industry throughout the UK and internationally. It provides practical support, export advice, information exchange and a voice.

UK Trade & Industry

UKTI is a non-ministerial government department working with all kinds of UK-based businesses, including textiles, to help them succeed in international markets through exports. It also encourages and supports overseas companies to look at the UK as the best place to set up or expand their business.

Fashion and Textiles Children's Trust (FTCT)

FTCT gives financial support to families who work or recently worked in the UK fasion and textile industry.  Grants start at £250 and can provide practical help during a tough financial spot.

Federation of Small Businesses (FSB)

Membership organisation providing representation on issues affecting businesses including employment law and tax investigation protection. FSB can support self-employed and small business owners.

East Midlands Chamber of Commerce (EMC)

East Midlands Chamber is the leading business organisation in the East Midlands. With a growing membership of more than 3,800 businesses and 3,000 affiliates, it is the second largest chamber of commerce in the country.

EMC cover a wide range of services for members and non-members to support the textile sector grow in Leicester and Leicestershire.

Businesses can access useful sources of support such as events & seminars, training and recruitment support and information regarding international trade and exporting.
